Faced with the challenge of metering metal oxide powders into two pneumatic conveying lines within very limited headroom, the customer needed a compact solution that could maintain an airlock and control product flow. Bush & Wilton supplied a Twin Outlet Diverting Airlock (SRTO), combining both rotary feeder and diverter functions in one unit. This eliminated the need for additional equipment or modifications, allowing accurate, flexible feeding to either line in the available space.

To provide a controlled feed of product while maintaining an rotary valve to two alternative outlets. The customer was previously using a conventional rotary valve to feed a single pneumatic conveying line. A second line needed to be added to convey product to an alternate location. Limited headroom between the existing feed hopper and floor level where the two conveying lines were to be located, meant that there was no space for both rotary valves and separate diverting apparatus to be accommodated.
A Bush & Wilton Twin Outlet Diverting Rotary Valve (SRTO) was specified. This combines the function of a rotary feeder / rotary valve and a diverter valve in one compact assembly.
The SRTO Rotary Valve could be installed within the limited space already available, meaning that the existing feed hopper and associated equipment did not need be moved or modified. Feed of product can now be accurately metered to either pneumatic conveying line by simply reversing the direction of rotation and varying the speed of the rotor.
