One of Bush & Wilton’s larger projects this year, has been an order for 17 pneumatically actuated Gravity Diverter Valves.
These valves are destined for the Middle East, where they will be part of a major expansion project at a plant producing Titanium Dioxide.
Bush & Wilton had previously supplied a smaller number of valves for the initial phase of the plant. Based on the performance of this first batch, we were selected to design and manufacture the additional valves for the expansion.
Handling Ilmenite ore, the valves comprise both 2-way and 3-way configurations and have the facility to individually isolate each outlet for downstream maintenance purposes. 4 types have been supplied, each having a bespoke design to suit its location and function within the plant. Based on customer feedback from the initial phase, B&W were able to incorporate design changes to further improve performance and functionality.
With special paint finishes to suit the coastal location, the valves are expected to give trouble free service for years to come.
